I can’t believe how bad my wood rack was and now I will never go back to them. I don’t know where these originated but they are the greatest. I’m making tow or three balls now since I started to use these magic ball racks. They are what I expected so I am satisfied!!! I cannot recommend this rack highly enough and as added bonus you don’t have to worry about wear and tear from the normal 8 ball racks! With the extra space between the balls I’ve been potting a good 6-7 most games in my first run. Ive even managed to pot the 8 ball in the side pocket. It makes a perfect rack every time and breaks like a dream, I’ve seen my break improve tremendously off this rack. This very quickly became my go to rack I love it. These things are great! Took a little playing with the first few times, but we' ve got the knack now.You are paying for the precision, better breaks, and convenience. Didn' t give it 5 stars because it is only 2$ in materials so the value is not very good. You might think you could put 15 balls in a wood triangle rack and then slide it over the Magic rack, but that can shift the Magic Rack and doesn' t speed things up at all. To make it easier to repeatedly place it on the felt, I first put contrast chalk marks at the two base corner cutouts (head spot already on the front end cutout), and later put fine Sharpie dots on my felt. They also say it is good for away matches, but it is no great for transporting as a fold would ruin it. If I played a money game I would remove it. It' s not like a speed bump and does not deflect trajectory, so I have been leaving it on the table at all times for practicing. To test rolling ball interference, I left it on the table during play and it really doesn' t interfere with ball roll unless a ball is rolling extremely slow as it happens to bump an edge and even then just a mm or two inconsequential. Packaging says it speeds up racking to 15 seconds, but it is a delicate procedure and takes me twice that, but it is very repeatable and you don' t have to redo it once it' s racked and no tapping balls in place, so it may save some time after all. Or you can always go 100% and try to pocket as many balls as possible, your choice. Balls rack tight and then disperse well with merely 75% effort allowing more cue ball center-of-the-table control.

It works as expected (I saw this used in TV tournaments) and now the 8 ball clears the triangle 90% of the time when before it would barely move at all.
